About

He is Professor of Pedagogy and Lifelong Learning at the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He holds a BA and an MEd in Pedagogy from NKUA and a PhD from the University of the Aegean. He has been elected Chair of the Department for 2025–2028 (and served previously in 2016–2018) and was Dean of the School of Education for two terms (2018–2024). He directs the Transnational Joint Master Degree Program “School Counseling and Guidance” (NKUA & University of Cyprus), the Master Program “School Management and Lifelong Learning,” the department’s Laboratory “Educational Design, Lifelong Learning and Communication,” and the Scientific Supervisory Board of the pilot experimental school “Marasleios.” He chairs the Ministry of Education committee on Master Degree relevance for special education and school psychology and serves on the board of NKUA’s Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning, coordinating over twenty supplementary E-learning programs (e.g. “Intercultural Perspectives,” “Inclusive Education”) training more than 20 000 participants. In March 2024 he was appointed to the National Scientific Committee on Bullying and School Violence Prevention. His European/international project experience is extensive (e.g. ERASMUS+ ETHICSBOARD, ERASMUS+ PreMedBullying). He has published/edited eleven books and over 150 publications.
