Βιογραφικό

Inmaculada Santos is a professor in the Department of Didactics of Language and Literature at the University of Málaga. She is also the Provincial Coordinator of Reading and School Libraries at the Local Educational Authority of Málaga, eTwinning ambassador and a European Expert of Spanish and Belgium National Agency for internationalization of higher education. Among its main responsibilities as provincial coordinator are the following: coordinate the pedagogical work of school libraries in educational centers throughout the province of Malaga (around 500), coordinate and advise schools on programs of linguistic scope offers the Ministry of Education of the Junta de Andalucía and be a jury of different provincial competitions such as the spelling contest, literary illustration contest and micro-stories among others.

            She has a Degree in Translation and Interpretation from the University of Málaga. She holds a PhD in Educational Innovation Policies with international mention by the University of Málaga. Her area of specialization is linguistics applied to language teaching where she has an extensive training: three official master's degrees (Master's Degree in Bilingual Education and Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at Pablo Olavide University Master's Degree in Educational Innovation Policies for the Knowledge Society at the University of Málaga), PGCE, accreditation as an examiner of the Cervantes Institute and the Alliance Française, four higher qualifications of the official language school equivalent to a B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (English, French, Arabic and Italian). Moreover, she has completed more than 30 courses related to teaching both in Spain and in other countries: France, Italy, Sweden, Poland and Belgium.

            She has published several articles centered on the variables that influence the available vocabulary in mother tongue and in a foreign language in prestigious journals, such as Porta Linguarum, Ocnos, Pragmalingüística and Revista de Lingüística y Lenguas Aplicadas. She is part of a research project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain and two Educational Innovation Projects of the University of Malaga. She has done research stays in Chile, the Netherlands, Japan and Cuba and has given classes with the Erasmus grant of teaching missions in Ireland. She has participated in numerous international conferences in Spain and in other countries (Chile, China, India, Portugal and Poland). Dr. Santos's current research focuses on the linguistic initial training of teachers and in reading.
