Short curriculum vitae

She was born in Athens, the city where she resides. She originates from the region of North-Eastern Aegean, the island of Lesbos. By 2014, she was working as a Research Engineer (E.DI.P.: Laboratory Teaching Staff) in the Pedagogical Applications Laboratory and Production of Educational Material, in the Faculty of Education of the Νational and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Her research interests

focus on the history of education and especially of Greek education.

She studied

at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in: the School of Philosophy (French language and literature) and the School of Theology (Social theology). She attended studies in pedagogics: in France (Université Stendhal, Grenoble III), in England (University of London, Institute of Education, Master’s) and in Greece, where she was awarded a doctorate in Pedagogy from the University of Western Macedonia. She speaks Italian at beginner level. She speaks excellent English and French. She attended courses in Greek, Jewish and Ottoman Palaeography. She is certified for basic computer knowledge and has excellent knowledge of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). She won eight awards from: a) the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs (four for excellent progress and a Progress Award), b) the State Scholarships Foundation (an award and an honorary fellowship), and c) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1st prize in a Business Plan Contest).

Professional career/experience

She has worked in administration, teaching and research.

Administration: She did an internship in organizing cultural activities in the French Institute of Athens, which is subject to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of France. She worked in the Greek public administration for 14 years (2000-2014). The years 2000–2004 she served in a position in the administrative-economic sector, Ministry of the Interior: Prefectural Government: a) the Department of Transport and Communications, and b) Legal Service, while at the same time had assumed responsibilities of the Office of the Prefect and the President of the Prefectural Committee. In the years 2004-2014 she worked in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens: 1) the Secretariat of the Department of Social Theology, and 2) the library of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Education. She attended training seminars by the Institute of Public Administration, with total duration 25 days.

Teaching: She did internships in the teaching of French ‘to an adult audience’ in the French Institute of Athens and ‘to a school student audience’ in a public Greek high-school. From 2014 she has been working as a Research Engineer (E.DI.P.: Laboratory Teaching Staff) in Tertiary Public Greek Education.

Academic/Scientific activities

include the following:

1) She is a member of 10 scientific societies and associations (five Greek, two foreign and three international).

2) From 2009 to the present she participated in 14 conferences (six international and eight national, Pan-Hellenic) which were organized by 11 different players, the six international conferences organized by five different players, the eight national, Pan-Hellenic conferences by six different bodies.

3) Since 1998 to date she has published 15 scientific texts:

a) Conference proceedings: six summaries (four in international and two in national, Pan-Hellenic conferences) and three full text papers (one in international and two in national, Pan-Hellenic conferences).

b) Five scientific articles: three articles in refereed Greek journals; one article in an international scientific peer-reviewed magazine; and one article in a (non-refereed) Greek folklore magazine.

c) A presentation of a doctoral dissertation in a Greek scientific peer-reviewed journal.

4) She has garnered illustrative citations in scientific publications: 56 footnotes distributed in 19 scientific texts.

Her personal interests are turning to screenwriting and children's literature. She has published two fairy tales in collaborative projects.
